The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has donated RM2 million to Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) Development Fund in appreciation of the institution’s efforts in promoting and supporting Chinese education.
The Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said Pakatan Harapan had donated a total of RM1.8 million over the past 10 years to HCUC and the recent RM2 million after the coalition formed the government.
“HCUC Board of Directors and management have been working hard to put in extra efforts in upholding its quality education.
“Their determination brings HCUC to where it is today,” he said during the cheque presentation ceremony at HCUC, recently.
The cheque was presented to the Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association Chairman Dato’ Seri Ooi Soo Hing during the ceremony.
Among those present at the ceremony were Senator Lim Hui Ying, Jelutong MP R.S.N Rayer, Sungai Pinang assemblyman Lim Siew Khim, Berapit assemblyman Heng Lee Lee, Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng Soon Siang, Batu Lanchang State Assemblymen Wong Ye Zhong, Berapit State Assemblymen Wong Li Li, Batu Lancang assemblyman Ong Ah Teong, Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association Executive Adviser cum HCUC Chancellor Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Tan Kok Ping JP, Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association Honorary Advisor Dato’ Seri Ng Tee Soo, Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association Vice Chairman Dato’ Seri Khor Teng Tong, Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association Vice Chairman Dato’ Seri Hong Yeam Wah, Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association Honorary Secretary Datuk Tan Hiang Joo and HCUC Chief Executive and Vice Chancellor Dr Beh Kok Hooi.
