In light of staying healthy during the pandemic, students of Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) are organizing an online event entitled ‘Weekend Warrior’ with the theme of fitness from 8th January to 9th January 2021 on Facebook to advocate a healthy lifestyle.
The campaign is organised in collaboration with the Super Shape Wellness, a fitness center consists of a group of certified, experienced and passionate young coaches, which offers numerous types of dances and fitness classes, such as Zumba, K-Pop, Tabata, Yoga, Flying Yoga, Pilates, Latin Aerobics and others.
“The program encourages the public to exercise regularly in order to diminish the risk of severe Covid-19 illness, as well as avert mental health problems during the Covid-19 pandemic. ”Chairperson of the Weekend Warrior event, Goh Wei Ni said
“Some preliminary research found that many people neglected exercise during this period, and silent photos became a hidden danger to many physical and mental health. Therefore, the organizer wants to arouse the public’s interest in sports and discover the fun in it again to develop the habit of exercising regularly in the future,” Goh explained.
All activities are opened to the public. In addition to sport live sessions, one can also learn about useful home sports apps, sports knowledge, and take part in the quiz on the Facebook page. Secretly revealed that in the live session, there will be a lucky draw.
“Taking into account that the public will be busy with work on working days, we set the event on Sunday and invite the people to move their bodies together on a leisurely weekend and do exercises with us,” Goh explained the decision of conducting the program during the weekend.
