Graduating students in broadcasting donated RM4,400 worth of videography equipment to Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC), to help expand its existing broadcasting facilities.
The students used all the proceeds from their Final Year Premiere 2018 CTRL+S, held at the Penang Performing Arts Centre on July 13 in collaboration with Cuckoo International (MAL) Sdn. Bhd., for this worthy cause.
They contributed four Saramonic Lavalier microphones, two Godox LED light sticks, a set of Onsmo Lumilite LED studio light and an Onsmo Porta X-85 softbox.
CTRL+S chairperson Yeoh Shin Yee said the contribution made by the committee was a small gesture from them to show their appreciation towards HCUC.
“The past few months were very challenging for us, but we are glad for the support from lecturers and staff of HCUC who kept guiding and motivating us by giving constructive comments on our productions as well as overall event.
“We would like to thank all parties for making the screening a success. We also hope that the equipment will help our juniors to produce better films,” she said at a press conference, yesterday.
They are part of the 159 students who will be graduating on September 29.
Also present at the press conference were HCUC vice chancellor Dr Beh Kok Hooi, deputy vice chancellor Jenny Khoo and School of Communication and Media acting dean Dr Jane Teh.
CTRL+S showcased their projects comprising five short films and TV commercials which were produced by five teams, namely, Meteor Pictures, Wonder4 Production, DNA Production, Astrid Production and Load Complete.
