PENANG – On 4 July 2023, Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Trend Global with the aim of exposing students to the field of digital marketing and providing them internship opportunities at the company.

During the MOU signing, Dr. Beh mentioned that with the advancement of technology in the digital revolution, it has now become possible to work alongside AI-powered technologies to enhance the workplace environment. Due to that, he mentioned that students would then need to pick up new skills to be in control and that HCUC will continue to prepare its students to navigate through these complexities and meaningfully contribute to society.
The Digital Entrepreneur Programme (DEP) initiated by Trend Global offers students the chance to explore the field of entrepreneurship. Where students who are interested will be given a three-month training before they set out to conduct digital marketing and business.
Through the MOU signing between HCUC and Trend Global, students will be able to gain practical experience by applying their classroom knowledge in the real world business environment. HCUC’s curriculum heavily emphasizes both theory and practical knowledge, keeping pace with the latest advancements. The knowledge acquired by students meets industrial requirements, enhancing their employability and enabling them to apply what they have learned in their future careers.
He noted that IR 4.0 has transformed the operational landscape of the digital era, affecting many fields, including communication, arts and design, business, and language. “As an institution of higher education in mass communication, applied creative arts and design, business management, and Chinese studies, we attach great importance to continuous communication with industry partners to keep up with the latest trends and changes,” he added.
Dr. Beh expressed HCUC’s aspiration to become a leading institution and spokesperson in these fields through the memorandum of understanding, continuing to promote and enhance people’s understanding of diverse domains and providing them with abundant job opportunities.
