Han Chiang College (HCC) and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) have signed a partnership agreement to cooperate in providing quality higher education for both of the institutions’ students.
The collaboration follows UCAS’ visit to HCC after UCAS Executive Principal Professor Dr Wang Jinzhan expressed his admiration for the College’s Chinese community who found the strength and spirit to build a Chinese education based college for the betterment of the community.
Speaking during the meeting, Wang said UCAS produces 8,000 PhD and 6,000 masters graduates every year, making it the number one quality educational institution in the world.
While the postgraduate courses have been running since 1978, UCAS introduced its degree programmes in 2014 and enrolled 360 students.
HCC Principal Dr Beh Kok Hooi said the College looks forward to future engagement with UCAS as students will have opportunities to consider furthering their studies either locally or abroad.
“HCC expects to achieve the university college status by the end of this year and with that, we will offer homegrown degree programmes to students, or if they prefer, they could consider pursuing their studies with our many partner universities ,” he said adding that students can choose from the United Kingdom and Australia to China and Taiwan.
