Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) welcomed its new August 2018 intake students, today.
HCUC deputy vice chancellor Jenny Khoo addressed the students during the orientation ceremony and congratulated them on making the decision to embark on their next journey of discovery and learning experience in HCUC.
“HCUC will provide you with a holistic education that focuses on both academic and non-academic areas such as developing your confidence, communication and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to ask intelligent questions and seek answers and solutions.
“Your time in this University College will be filled with many opportunities for academic and social growth,” she said.
She added that besides focusing on acquiring a holistic education, HCUC would also ensure that the students experience an enriching social life throughout their journey in the University College.
“I urge you to participate actively in student activities, be members of our many societies and take part in sporting events and competitions.
“HCUC has many exciting events and activities that await your participation,” she said adding that the upcoming event is the annual Golden Achievement Award (GAA) ceremony, which will be held on September 29 to honour and recognise the creativity as well as outstanding performances of the graduating students.
Also present during the orientation ceremony was HCUC vice chancellor Dr Beh Kok Hooi.
HCUC offers foundation, diploma, degree and master’s degree programmes through its Schools of Communication and Media, Applied Creative Arts and Design, Business and Management, Chinese Studies and Languages and Translation.
Starting this semester, HCUC is offering a new degree programme – the Bachelor of Public Relations (Hons), which has received good response from diploma holders as well as STPM and UEC holders.
Other degree and postgraduate programmes that are currently being offered in HCUC are Bachelor of Communication (Advertising) (Hons), Bachelor of Communication (Media Production) (Hons), Bachelor of Communication (New Media) (Hons), BA (Hons) Creative Multimedia, BA (Hons) Logistics and Supply Chain Management, BA (Hons) Chinese Studies, BA (Hons) Translation & Interpretation and Master of Management Science.
