An online workshop on the online services offered by the campus library was organised by Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) library on 10 December. The webinar was opened to all new and existing students of all programmes.
Mohd Jafri bin Abdul Wahab, Head Librarian of HCUC said the online workshops have been planned to be conducted on a monthly basis for students of all programmes to utilise the online services of the library at the comfort of their home as they could not return to campus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Eleven students have participated in the online workshop, ranging from HCUC’s School of Communication and Media, School of Business and Management, School of Applied Creative Arts and Design to School of Chinese Studies,” he added.
During the online workshops, students are guided by the librarian about the process of borrowing and returning the books and renewing the borrowed books which can all be done on the HCUC library website. In addition, the students are also taught to use e-resources of the library as EBSCOhost, Elsevier, Emerald, Wanfang Data, and Open Access Journal for their research purposes.
Jafri said students who wish to find the past year examination papers can browse the Moodle platform with the enrolment key given by the librarian to access the examination papers.
“Besides guiding students on using the academic resources and services, students are also introduced to the e-book collection of Penang Digital Library (PDL). They are also exposed to the basic services of PDL and the campus library,” Jafri further elaborated on the essence of the webinar.
