PENANG: Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) is looking for the next promising media presenter as it hosts the E-Host Idol Search Contest of 2021.
For the first time this year, the Host Idol Search Contest will be held virtually as a result of the pandemic. Organised by the School of Communication and Media, this virtual contest challenges aspiring hosts, news anchors and YouTubers to showcase their presentation and orator skills.
Participants stand to win certificates and scholarships worth up to RM25,000. Winners can use their scholarship prize money to pursue any course of their choice at HCUC.
Open to all young Malaysians from the ages of 15 to 19, this contest has three categories for participation – Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin.
Self-introduction videos of participants are to be posted on their personal Facebook or Instagram profile page by following the steps below:
- a)Step 1: Upload the video to your personal Facebook or Instagram account and select ‘Public’ as the audience of your post.
- b)Step 2: Attach the hashtag #hostidol2021 #hanchianguc
- c)Step 3: Fill in details of your personal information and your video link in the Google registration form here: https://tinyurl.com/hostidol2021.
The audition will start on 5 April, 2021 and participants must publicly share their self-introduction videos via their Facebook or Instagram by 10 May, 2021.
Following the audition, the semi-finals will witness Facebook ‘likes’, in addition to the discretion of the judges, determining the top 15 contestants. The latter will compete in the final round to become the Host Idol of 2021. The decision made by judges is final.
