In association with the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce (PCCC), Penang Han Chiang Association Chinese Schools Association Board of Directors are organising a fundraising dinner named Han Chiang University College Night.
The objective of this dinner is to raise funds to upgrade the teaching and learning facilities in Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) and also for the development of the sky building The Chancellery in its efforts to create a more modern and conducive learning environment for students.
The HCUC Development Fundraising Dinner will be held on March 23, 2018 (Friday) at G Hotel Penang.
Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce President, Dato’ Seri Choot Ewe Seng and Chairman of Penang Teochew Association and Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association Honorary Advisor, Dato’ Seri Ng Tee Soo are jointly chairing the HCUC Fundraising Dinner Committee.
The HCUC Fundraising Dinner Committee would also like to extend its sincere gratitude to the The Penang State Government, Penang Chinese Consulate-General, Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Chinese associations and the general public for their relentless love and support in raising funds for the development of education and Han Chiang University College of Communication.
The Penang Chief Minister, YAB Tuan Lim Guan Eng will be attending the fundraising dinner along with the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Penang, Wu Jun. Other VIP guests include Deputy Chief Minister I, YB Dato’ Haji Mohd Rashid bin Hasnon, Deputy Chief Minister II, YB Prof. Dr. Ramasamy Palanisamy, Penang Island City Council Mayor (MBPP), Ar. Yew Tung Seang and Penang State Executive Councillors.
The HCUC Fundraising Committee has managed to raise the first phase of the targeted amount of RM15 million needed to develop The Chancellery and the exact amount will be announced during the dinner itself. All the donations received will be directed to the Han Chiang University College (HCUC) Development Fund.
There will be 60 tables provided for guests during the dinner. Several leaders from the fundraising committee will bear all the expenses for the fundraising dinner.
Han Chiang University College alumni Tan Lay Teng and Carol Fong Lee Yih will be the hosts for the fundraising dinner.
Students from Han Chiang Primary School (HCPS), Han Chiang Secondary School (HCHS), Han Chiang University College (HCUC) and Han Chiang Alumni will perform during Han Chiang Night.
Han Chiang College received the letter of approval from the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) for the upgrading of Han Chiang College to Han Chiang University College of Communication on October 25, 2017 and members of the Board of Directors went to Putrajaya to receive the letter from the Minister of Higher Education on November 3, 2017.
