GEORGE TOWN: To symbolically welcome the arrival of Chinese New Year, Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association Board of Directors organized a Chinese New Year celebration cum Consolation Feast dinner at Han Chiang Lim Lean Teng Hall on 18th January 2020.
Board of Directors Chairman Dato’ Seri Ooi Soo Hing expressed his hope that the members of Han Chiang team would be able to stay strong in the times of difficulties and spread their happiness when success knocks the door.
“Looking back on 2019, we are delighted to have travelled on the right path as well as bringing benefits for the society. Moreover, we are equally grateful to the society for giving us such an overwhelming opportunity, environment and support to make the three educational institutions of Han Chiang successful.” he said.
He further mentioned that Executive Advisor of Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association Board of Directors and Chancellor of Han Chiang University College of Communication, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Tan Kok Ping JP has announced at the 100th anniversary school celebration that the donation will be fully utilized to the improvisations of Han Chiang Elementary School’s teaching building and have expressed his desire to convert the school into a full day teaching method.
At present, according to Ooi, the Board of Directors are having meetings with the architects to finalize the proposed plan. He believes that the new look of Han Chiang Primary School will be coming in soon for the benefits of everyone.
He also appreciated the continuous assistance and guidance from The Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Penang Lu Shiwei, Penang Han Chiang Associated Chinese Schools Association Board of Directors, Penang Chinese Chamber Of Commerce Board of directors, Penang Teochew Association, The Kwangtung & Teochew Association, Che Hoon Khor Moral Uplifting Society, Representatives of Alumni Associations, Director of Family Education Association, every faculty and students from all the Han Chiang educational institutions for their dedication and efforts in the 100th anniversary school celebration.
Besides speeches, the evening had featured numerous entertainment programmes from singing to dancing whose performances were aced by both the academic staff and students themselves.
