Han Chiang College (HCC) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Joe Sidek Productions Sdn. Bhd. (JSPSB) to collaborate on video productions and creative arts projects.
The College’s communications and creative arts students will work on two major projects for George Town Festival (GTF), in an effort to encourage idea-sharing and grow local talents.
The first project is a video production for Arts for Humanity, a programme that gives out free community and student tickets to anyone who is unable to attend a ticketed performance.
The video will encourage donors to contribute 1USD or more to initiatives that provide free community tickets and educational workshops.
Acting Principal Dr Beh Kok Hooi said the MoU will benefit both parties as the students will learn from the industry’s finest while preparing them for better job opportunities.
“Apart from harnessing the College’s talents, we are also offering our TV studio space, facilities and filming equipment to Joe Sidek Productions,” Beh said.
Festival director Joe Sidek said it is important to get youths onboard as he is keen to impart everything he has learned to them.
He added that the partnership with HCC will see opportunities for the public to hear the voices of the younger generation.
