Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Malaysia (Samenta) are jointly organising Industry4WRD, a forum on Industrial Revolution 4.0 at HCUC Auditorium on June 27.
It is the first collaboration between HCUC and Samenta.The forum from 2pm to 5pm is opened to the public. Admission is free.
The event was announced by HCUC Vice-Chancellor Dr Beh Kok Hooi and Samenta Hon National Secretary Yeoh Seng Hooi at a media conference at HCUC today. Also present was Samenta national president Koay Chiew Guan.
The main speakers for the forum are Penang Director of Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) Clement Wong, and Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) Dato’ Madani Sahari.
Dr Beh stressed that the forum would help small-medium enterprises (SMEs) prepare and embrace the advent of IR4.0, which would ultimately become the forefront of their respective competitors.
“From self-driven automobiles to autonomous robots, the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) is changing how we live, work and communicate.
“Äs a university college, we fully support such events and forums in order for our students to keep abreast with the current trends,” Dr Beh said.
Dr Beh also said HCUC is offering Master in Management programme. Big Data Visualisation and Digital Transformation are among the modules in this programme.
Apart from HCUC’s homegrown Master in Management, it also offers dual award Master’s programmes in collaboration with the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia i.e. Master of Business Administration (MBAD) and Master of Business and Innovation (MBSI). The intake for the Master programme will be in November this year.
“We want our HCUC students to not only excel in academics but also know about the needs and trends of society,” Dr Beh added.
Meanwhile, Yeoh said there would also be grant options available for SMEs to speed up the digital adoption, which will also be discussed during the forum.
Koay said this is the first time Samenta is working with Han Chiang University College, to organise this forum.
“We chose HCUC because we found that HCUC students ar more challenging in creative works, so it is a good start to work with HCUC.”
