GEORGETOWN: Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) Year 3 Semester 1 Broadcasting students screened memorable pieces during their recent premiere at Auditorium A, Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak.
The word ‘Memoire’ which was used as the theme of the final year premiere, is a French word which means memory. ‘Memoire’ final year premiere received support from many companies including Cocaho Furniture Sdn Bhd, Gene Martino, US Pizza, Rexhill Engineering Sdn Bhd, Enliven One, Warrior Energy Drink, N.Power Engineering Sdn Bhd, De Santia Bridal House and Edibles. Penang Chinese Affairs Coordination Committee Chairperson, YB Puan Chong Eng sponsored the venue for the premiere.
‘Wishes Come True’ by Esperer Entertainment won the Best Short Film. Crew members of Esperer Entertainment and the cast of ‘Wishes Come True’ were truly astonished to win the award.
Video editor of Esperer Entertainment, Teong Wan Hoong said “we spent a month to finish shooting and editing our short film because of the recent floods as most of our shooting venues were affected”. “We had no choice but to postpone our shooting appointments and extended our schedule”, Teong added.
“We would like to thank HCUC for lending us the equipment for our production and we would also like to thank our broadcasting lecturers Mr Lee Kean Wei, Miss Ooi Li Fang, and Mr Muhammad Su’ud Zhariff for their guidance and support,” she said. Teong also gave credits to Tarren Tan who was one of the cast for their short film and for guiding them with lighting and camera angle.
Tarren Tan, when interviewed, mentioned he was surprised when the members of Esperer Entertainment contacted him to act in their short film again and he happily agreed to act in their short film.
“I am surprised when they asked me to act in their short film again as I acted the previous semester. I agreed to act in their short film because it was a pleasure to work with them again and they were also running out of time,” added Tan.
About Year 3 Semester 1 Premiere
The aim of screening projects of Final Year Broadcasting students was to share their work with others. This opportunity allows students to earn more experience and enhance their ability in the production field from the feedback and suggestions of the audience.
