PENANG, 4 NOV — A wave of enthusiasm swept through the seminar room of Batu Uban Youth and Sports Complex in Penang as young individuals gathered to enhance their English interview skills and English resume writing skills.
The occasion was the Penang state level Skills For Life Program that was jointly organized by Penang Youth Development Centre (PYDC) and the Penang State Youth and Sports Department. The event that was initially planned to be held at Han Chiang University College of Communication Auditorium attracted Penang youths of all ages.
The programme focused on the important aspects of communication. Experienced speakers guided participants in creating standout resumes and mastering interview techniques through sharing valuable insights and techniques.
Ms. Cheryl Neoh, a seasoned trainer from Life Edu Training & Development, led an engaging session on interactive resume writing skills. She taught participants to craft compelling resumes that would captivate employers.
Meanwhile, the second session was conducted by Mr. W.S Chulan, a trainer from Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) and Penang Toastmasters Club. He shared useful tips on interview preparation, boosting participants’ confidence.
In addition to imparting useful knowledge, the event encouraged a sense of togetherness among the participants,
who eagerly participated in workshops filled with interactive sessions.
“Skills For Life Programme not only equipped me with English communication skills but also served as a platform for personal and professional growth,” shared Elly, a 18-years-old participant who traveled down from Seberang Perai to attend.
“I am well-prepared for future challenges in my internship after I end my diploma studies next month because this event allowed me to refine my abilities,” stated 20-years-old Nana.
Attendees also received exciting rewards after the event from various online shopping websites, including from Grab, Shopee, Food Panda, and Lazada, adding to the overall positive experience of the day.
