Han Chiang College (HCC) students can now complete the final year of their degree in the United Kingdom (UK).

HCC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Southampton Solent University which will enable diploma students to undertake one year of degree study at the UK campus.

The two years of advanced standing for the degree applies to all HCC diploma students.

The industry-focused university will offer scholarships from £500-£2,000 to outstanding students who record a CGPA of 2.6 and above.  

Tuition fees for the degree programme for one year is £11,500.

HCC Principal Dr Beh Kok Hooi said the MoU will benefit both parties as students will be able to acquire knowledge for the Malaysian and UK industries.

“Whether it is in broadcasting journalism, accounting, business management, mass communication of multimedia design communication, students with exposure for such different markets will end up being more employable and skillful,” Beh said.  

Southampton Solent University Director of External Relations Tere Daly said they are pleased to collaborate with HCC as the College is well-known for its strengths particularly in mass communication.

“At Southampton Solent University, we offer double degrees in some courses and we hope that students will take the opportunity to come study abroad,” Daly said.
