Han Chiang College (HCC) alumna Tan Ley Teng, who is also a famous figure in the world of journalism and broadcasting, took home the Best News and Current Affairs Presenter award at ntv7’s Golden Awards 2017.
The ceremony which was broadcast live on ntv7 last night, saw Tan beating five other nominees to win the award.
HCC Principal Dr Beh Kok Hooi congratulated Tan for her success and the work that she does in inspiring others to explore the same study and career routes as hers.
“Tan Ley Teng was one of our exemplary students at the College before she left for Taiwan to further her studies which opened up even more doors into the media industry for her,” Beh said adding that she has helped train and judge the College’s news anchor competitions like the previous years’ Anchor Idol and the newly revamped Host Idol.
“Our Host Idol finals will take place in July and the participants will be able to gain some valuable feedback from judges who work in the media field including Tan, who has been a regular face at some of our leading events and competitions,” he said.
Alumni Kong Lu See and Mint Teh Lin Ming also won the Best Infotainment Programme and Best Editing awards for the Let’s Cycle season 2 programme.
