PENANG – Canon had recently sponsored a brand new R50 series camera to HCUC for the purpose of filmmaking and photography.
Max Lim, the head of Canon Image Square Penang, expressed that Canon hopes the students of HCUC are able to learn and have access to the latest shooting equipment that are available in the market, while being able to master the skills in producing high quality work.
He stated that with the changing of time and advancements in technology, cameras that are available in the marketplace have now integrated both aspects of photography and video recording into one device. Hence, students should make good use of all the functions in the camera to further enhance their existing skill sets.
Additionally, Darren Tan, the General Manager of Canon in Penang, mentioned that this sponsorship was an act of goodwill which not only benefits the students of HCUC but also increases the brand’s reputation and public image. He also hinted at the possibility of future collaborations with the university college.
Dr. Beh Kok Hooi, Vice-chancellor of HCUC, expressed his excitement and gratitude for Canon’s sponsorship. He mentioned that the act of goodwill from Canon benefitted not only the students of HCUC but also represents the trust and recognition of the society towards the academic quality HCUC is upholding.
With the sponsorship from Canon, Dr. Beh took the opportunity to remind HCUC students to understand the importance of gratitude and to cherish the support given to them by society. He urged them to become individuals who would one day contribute to society.
