The popularity of mooncake during festivals has prompted Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) students to organise a competition on making snow skin mooncake.
But before the competition started, the organiser gave a briefing to the participants on how to make snow skin mooncake.
The event turned out to be a wonderful and fun afternoon in The Greatest Snowskin Mooncake Competition which was organised by seven students of HCUC as an assignment of Education Ministry’s MPU3422 Self-Development Course.
A total of 25 participants took part in the three-hour competition, which was also open to the public and other students from HCUC.
Event organising chairman Yap Sian Yang, who is a Year 2 Semester 1 student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Studies, said the event was to test the participants’ creativity and cohesiveness.
“Through this competition, the participants also learnt to work as a team.”
Yap stressed that this assignment project also helped participants to relieve stress and improve relationships.
“Although it is low-budget, the event is very meaningful.”
Event committee member Jamie Hor Sook Mun, who is a Year 1 Semester 2 student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Studies thanked the sponsor, Chee Khoon Printings Sdn Bhd, for the donation of cash, banners and posters.
“Their support has greatly helped us to make the event successful,” she said.
The organiser supplied the dough and stuffings.
Also present at the event held at HCUC Multi-Purpose Hall (2) were HCUC Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr Ooi Bee Peng, lecturer & event advisor Ms K. Shanjutha, event judges Dr Yang Jie and Ms Loo Xiang Thing, staff and students.
