“Pieces”, Graduation Exhibition 2019, by students of Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) is now open to the public at Level 8, 1st Avenue Mall, Penang, from today to Sunday, August 11.
All the exhibits are the works of students from the School of Applied Creative Arts and Design. The students are in their Final Year Diploma in Multimedia Communication Design.
Present at the opening ceremony today were HCUC Vice Chancellor Dr Beh Kok Hooi, Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr Ooi Bee Peng, Dean of School of Applied Creative Arts and Design, Mr Lim Thong Soon, lecturers and staff.
Mr Lim said the Exhibition’s title “Pieces” was inspired by the jigsaw puzzle, which is also reflected in the teamwork and chemistry among the 14 graduating students.
“Like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, one can never see the whole picture when we only look at a single piece. It is when all pieces are placed together that we can see the actual picture clearly,” he said.
He noted that the students had managed to accomplish the many aspects and facets of making this exhibition a reality.
Mr Lim also said that the programme for the Diploma in Multimedia Communication Design at HCUC has been specifically designed to provide graduates with skills and competencies that are highly sought after by prospective employers.
“The programme aims at producing graduates who have a mastery of a range of multimedia design skills, supported by professional skills in the area of visual communication, computing, animation, media production and design management.”
